In a recent sharing session, Messi revealed the reason why he still could not speak English.

“I understand everything or almost everything in English. However, I feel shy so I can’t speak. However, I think I can do it,” Messi shared.

In an interview, his teammate Julian Gressel at Inter Miami revealed a funny story related to Messi’s English speaking.

“Messi doesn’t talk to me much, but when he does, he always speaks in Spanish. I can still understand. Once during a match, he came up to me and spoke in English. It was the first time he communicated with me in English. After that, he humorously said, ‘My English is also very good, right?’”, Gressel confided.

The problem of communicating in English did not affect Messi’s integration at Inter Miami much. The Argentine striker immediately shone in his new shirt. In the first 7 matches, Messi scored 10 goals, helping his team win the historic Leagues Cup championship.
