When we think of unlikely celebrity friendships, Beyoncé and Gwyneth Paltrow’s longtime relationship usually comes to mind.

Beyoncé and Paltrow’s close friendship kicked off in 2006 when they — along with their husbands Jay-Z and Chris Martin — met at a charity event in New York City.

According to sources, the couples instantly hit it off and vibed with each other the entire night.

In 2010, Paltrow opened up about that fateful night on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, revealing that she and Beyoncé “just kind of hooked up.”

The actress had also shared that she and her then-husband, Martin, had become “really close” with Beyoncé and Jay-Z, adding that “they’re incredible people […] very, very kind, generous, good.”

The powerhouse couples went on to strike up a close bond that just got stronger as time went on.
