TENSIONS RISING: BBC executives are in turmoil after discovering that Wynne Evans has SUBMITTED criminal evidence against them to court in retaliation for being kicked off the show.

Wynne Evans is reportedly preparing to take legal action against the BBC after being removed from the Strictly Come Dancing live tour,

a decision he believes has unfairly damaged his reputation.

The Go Compare star, 53, was dropped from the tour following backlash over a controversial remark he made during the tour’s press launch.

Evans Claims Unfair Treatment Over Controversial Remark

Sources close to Evans claim that he is deeply frustrated by the BBC’s decision,

believing his removal was a knee-jerk reaction to public commentary rather than a fair assessment of the situation.

The opera singer has reportedly hired a crisis PR expert and is seeking legal advice to challenge the decision,

maintaining that his comment was not directed at host Janette Manrara in the way it has been portrayed.

A source told The Sun: “He said he is going to a tribunal with the BBC and will fight with every breath in his body. Wynne feels he has been treated unfairly and won’t go down without a fight.”

Additionally, it is reported that Evans feels let down by his colleagues, as many of the professional dancers and celebrities on tour were allegedly aware of the context of his remark but have not spoken out publicly in his defense.

“He is heartbroken by how this all played out and is upset that no one has spoken out to defend him publicly… It was an ‘in’ joke. It didn’t offend anyone, and no one complained,” the insider added.

Impact on Career and Lucrative Endorsement Deal

The controversy surrounding Evans’ removal from the Strictly tour has reportedly put his long-standing role as the face of Go Compare at risk. The Welsh opera singer, who has fronted the insurance company’s adverts since 2009, is said to earn £200,000 a year from the campaign. However, executives have reportedly held crisis meetings regarding his future with the brand.

In addition to the uncertainty surrounding his advertising deal, Evans has stepped back from his BBC Wales radio show in the wake of the backlash, citing a need to “prioritise his wellbeing.” His decision to take a break from broadcasting and public appearances has fueled speculation about whether he will be able to rebuild his career after the controversy.

BBC Declines to Comment as Evans Issues Apology

The BBC has remained tight-lipped on the situation, declining to comment when approached by The Standard. Meanwhile, Evans himself issued a public apology following the incident, acknowledging the impact of his actions.

In a statement, he said:

“I’ve agreed with the BBC that I’ll take some time out from my radio show and the Strictly Live tour, as well as my other public commitments, to prioritise my wellbeing.”

“I am deeply sorry for the pain my inappropriate actions have caused, and plan to take this time for self-reflection.”

“Apologies to those I won’t get to see at the remaining performances, and I’m grateful to my fellow tour gang for all the amazing support they have given me.”

Despite this statement, Evans’ legal team is reportedly exploring options to challenge the BBC’s decision, believing that his removal from the tour was unjust.

Support from Strictly Co-Star JB Gill

Amid the controversy, fellow Strictly Come Dancing contestant JB Gill has spoken out about Evans’ difficult situation. The JLS star, who was also part of the latest season, acknowledged that Evans is going through a “tough time” and expressed hope that he can recover from the scandal.

Speaking to The Sun, Gill said: “I hope so, I’ve not been in direct contact with him, but I think he’s going through a bit of a tough time at the minute. Obviously, I’m wishing him well and hoping he’ll be able to come back.”

What’s Next for Wynne Evans?

As Evans prepares to take legal action against the BBC, the outcome of his case could have significant implications for his career. His decision to fight back suggests that he is determined to clear his name and restore his public image.

However, whether he can regain the support of the BBC, his advertising partners, and the general public remains uncertain. For now, he faces an uphill battle as he seeks to defend himself against the backlash and salvage his professional standing.
