The Princess, who has been largely out of the public eye while she continues undergoing a course of preventative chemotherapy for cancer, stood
alongside Prince William and said: “From all of us watching at home, congratulations to Team GB.”
Princess Kate – who made her last public appearance at Wimbledon for the Men’s Singles Final in July – looked glowing in a white and navy Breton striped top.
Prince William proudly donned a Team GB polo.
While many followers shared the Royal couple’s sentiments, others seemed delighted at the appearance of Prince William’s new beard.
“William please keep growing that beard!” one follower commented, among many other positive messages on the video.
Other celebrities and sporting stars included in the video also shared their congratulations for the country’s Olympic competitors.
Despite being from the US, rapper Snoop Dog, who has been highly visible at the Games as a commentator for NBC, also appeared.
‘Thank you Great Britain. On behalf of Snoop Dogg, the Prince and his lovely wife,’ he ended the video.
Other personalities included former England captain and football icon David Beckham, broadcaster Gabby Logan, former American sprinter and BBC presenter Michael Johnson and former Heptathlon champion turned broadcaster Jessica Ennis-Hill.
A caption shared with the video read:
“Every athlete showed immense dedication, heart and passion. You made us all so proud! Here’s to celebrating every triumph at Paris 2024 and looking forward to more from the Paralympics later in the summer.”
The royal video follows a similar message shared earlier by King Charles to mark the end of the Paris Olympics.
The King’s message reads: “My wife joins me in sending our warmest congratulations to the competitors and their support teams from Team GB and across the whole Commonwealth, for their many outstanding successes at the Olympic Games in Paris.
“Your achievements, across so many disciplines, were forged from that invaluable combination of raw talent, true grit and hard toil over many years, burnished these past weeks by sportsmanship and team spirit in the finest tradition of the Games.
“To those who missed out on the greatest prizes, you have most certainly not fallen short in the pride that you, too, have generated for your nations.
“As we thank France for hosting such a wonderful tournament and look to the Paralympics ahead, I can only say that you have all been an inspiration.”
