Rihanna shared an interesting story about her first meeting with ASAP Rocky: “I scared him with just one sentence”

To what she wishes she could change about the beauty industry, and the Fenty Beauty founder didn’t hold back.

“I wish that the leaders of the beauty industry were a more diverse set of pioneers who have not just experienced the culture, but have experienced the negligence in the industry,” Rihanna explained to Rocky.

 “Whether it comes to your skin tone or skin type, there’s so many voids to be filled, and we will only know that by the pioneers that have experienced that void and lack of their representation in the industry.” 

She added that as a Black woman who’s felt excluded from many beauty brands, she wanted men to feel included in her gender-neutral skin-care brand, Fenty Skin.

Rihanna shared that Rocky, who starred in Fenty Skin’s first campaign with Lil Nas X, represented the men who “love their skin and take care of it” but don’t feel like they have “permission” to embrace skin care.
