Reba McEntire shared behind-the-scenes moments from her upcoming sitcom, Happy’s Place, in a new video on Instagram on Wednesday (September 18). The series is set to premiere in one month.
McEntire stars in the comedy alongside her real-life boyfriend, actor Rex Linn, former Reba cast mate Melissa Peterman, plus Belissa Escobedo, Pablo Castelblanco, and Tokala Black Elk. McEntire also serves as an executive producer with Michael Hanel, Mindy Schultheis, Julie Abbott and writer Kevin Abbott. The beloved country star reunited with Peterman earlier this week at the 76th Primetime Emmy Awards in Los Angeles, California, where the duo teased the upcoming series.
McEntire will star as Bobbie, who “inherits her father’s restaurant and is less than thrilled to discover that she has a new business partner in the half-sister she never knew she had,” per NBC.
“It’s another creative outlet – that’s why I love acting,” McEntire previously shared via her record label. “When I did ‘Annie Get Your Gun,’ I got to sing, I got to act, but I also got to be another character. I wasn’t Reba McEntire, so that’s what I really enjoy doing – being outside my character.”
Happy’s Place will make its debut on October 18.
