The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are on a four-day tour of Colombia.
The trip has received great attention from the international media, which has dubbed it a “half-royal” visit.
Since arriving in the South American country, Meghan Markle has been highly praised for her elegant fashion style.
The most notable outfit she chose to attend the “Responsible Digital Future” forum at EAN University in Bogota, the capital of Colombia, on the evening of August 15 (local time).
According to Page Six, the former actress wore a simple brown outfit, combining a silk shirt from the Victoria Beckham brand ($773) and La Ligne straight-leg silk pants ($295).
In addition, she paired it with burnt orange suede sandals from the luxury fashion house Aquazzura ($795) and diamond earrings ($2,530).
This is not Meghan’s most beautiful outfit during the tour, but it has made many people curious because the Sussex and Beckham families have stopped being friends with each other, which has been mentioned many times in the press. It is of course not normal for Meghan to wear a design from an old friend for the most important schedule of the year.
Daily Mail sees this as Meghan’s move to extend an olive branch to the Beckham family, seemingly intending to rekindle their old friendship.

However, the two famous women reportedly had a heated argument in 2018 and gradually cooled off.
In his biography House of Beckham (2024), author Tom Bower suggested that the discord stemmed from Meghan “deceiving herself” that being a royal daughter-in-law put her above the Beckhams in terms of social status.
The conflict became more tense when the Sussexes accused the Beckhams of leaking their private lives to the press. Specifically, information about Victoria supporting Meghan a lot when the American beauty first moved to Kensington Palace (UK) in 2017. Victoria denied leaking the information, and Beckham felt angry when questioned over the phone.
Harry and Meghan then decided not to invite the Beckhams to the wedding party in the evening, even though they had previously attended the official ceremony at St George’s Chapel. According to Mr. Bower, this move was an unforgivable insult because many of the Hollywood stars present at the dinner party were not friends of the Sussexes.
Despite being looked down upon, the Beckhams still behaved kindly. David traveled all the way to Sydney (Australia) to attend the Invictus Games at Harry’s invitation in October 2018, but was not able to meet the red-haired prince directly.
On the side of the two wives, Mr. Bower accused Meghan of using the royal title to want Victoria to provide free luxury clothes and accessories, despite the fact that this request was against the Palace’s rules.
Victoria initially did not agree, but her business losses forced the mother of four to compromise, even though the relationship between the two families cooled after the trip to Sydney. The beauty born in 1974 lent Meghan clothes in the hope that the duchess’s reputation would improve sales. Unfortunately, Victoria’s expectations did not come true as Meghan increasingly lost favor with the public.
Although they are no longer as close as before, the two families still try to maintain their relationship by occasionally meeting each other on weekends. However, since Harry and Meghan withdrew from royal duties and settled abroad in 2020, and even continuously “dropped bombs” on the British Royal Family, the Beckham family has completely cut ties with the controversial couple.
