Inter Miami already qualified for the next stage without the need of Leo Messi, Luis Suarez was the one who made that happen with so many scored goals in his first season. 

But Messi is making it his mission to arrive ‘fashionably late’ to the party. 

The MLS club just released a teaser of Leo’s imminent return to action with a short video 

where you can see Messi working out on the pitch from a long distance. You can call it a Messi sighting, if you will.

When will Leo Messi return to a competitive game?

Last week, manager Gerardo ‘Tata’ Martino was the one who decided to announce that Messi won’t return until the first Playoffs game. However, that won’t be until the month of October. So we have to wait another month in order to get Leo Messi back in action. But nobody should rush these things. Ankle injuries can be very tricky for the athlete who suffers one and they need to make 100% sure they recover fully in order to get back out there. Although Messi is in the twilight of his career, it would still be a shame if the world doesn’t enjoy Leo Messi playing the MLS Playoffs due to an injury.

To those who wonder, Messi is not touching the ball yet, he s making slow sprints and jogging to test his right ankle. From such a long distance, it’s difficult to make out whether the training is hurting his foot or not. But the fact that he is already back with cleats on the field has to be really encouraging for Messi and Inter Miami fans who want to see him play again. It’s still one month until we get to the MLS Playoffs, will Leo Messi have enough time to fully recover?
