I have also learned from contemporary artists like Solange, Kendrick Lamar, Frank Ocean, and more. I respect and admire them all, and I try to pay homage to them in my own way,” Beyoncé said.

She explained that she never intended to steal from anyone, but rather to celebrate and honor the rich and diverse legacy of black music.

She said that she always credited her sources, and that she collaborated with many of the artists that she was accused of stealing from.
She also pointed out that she used her platform and influence to uplift and empower other black artists, especially women and LGBTQ+ people.
