The local community is invited to highlight authentic ballroom culture that was originally founded by Black and Brown transgender pageant performers.
“Despite the challenges facing our community, we continue to celebrate this renaissance of freedom and self-love and honor the Black and Brown,

queer and transgender pioneers who paved the way for us to live our best lives,” said Human Rights Campaign President, Kelley Robinson in a news release.

The event is honoring ballroom culture with a friendly competition that creates a safe space for guests to express their artistic abilities.

The foundation is also working with Beeline Productions and the Shady Gang to provide entertainment and educational resources.
Guests can participate in HIV testing, voter registration, or learn about the foundation’s LGBTQ+ programs.
‘The Equality Ball’ premieres at the Palms Casino Resort on August 27.
