Former US Navy SEAL Yassine Cheuko, who was personally chosen by Inter Miami President David Beckham to be Messi’s personal bodyguard,

“Messi not only sees me as a bodyguard but also as a true friend. We often chat, laugh and get to know each other’s personalities,” said Yassine Cheuko.
“Messi also often invites me to lunch. He treats me very well. There is almost no distance between us as bodyguard and client,”
the former US Navy SEAL added in a recent conversation on the social networking platform YouTube.
“There is a very interesting memory, that is when I accompanied Messi to Paris (France) to receive the Golden Ball award (8th time in 2023). When returning on the private plane, Messi said to me: “Yassine, please hold the Golden Ball in your hand!” I replied: “Okay”. At first, I thought Messi wanted me to move the Golden Ball to another place. But when I took it away, Messi turned to his wife and children and said: “The winner of the Golden Ball is the best bodyguard: Yassine”. It was a beautiful moment and Messi’s words will make me never forget”, Yassine Cheuko shared.
“I feel like I am part of his family. I am trying my best to protect him, not only physically but also mentally. Because Messi trusts and depends on me a lot. As for me, I give him all my attention. Especially, being close to Messi for so long, I can confirm that he is very humble,” Yassine Cheuko emphasized.
According to the Daily Mail (UK): “Inter Miami Club President David Beckham chose Yassine Cheuko to protect Messi, because this former US Navy SEAL is very good at martial arts and has combat experience in the Iraq and Afghanistan battlefields before. Yassine Cheuko has many times reacted extremely quickly to protect Messi by promptly stopping fans from rushing onto the field. But there are also many cases where Yassine Cheuko let fans take pictures with Messi before taking him off the field.”
The US press said that it is very likely that Mr. David Beckham will hire bodyguard Yassine Cheuko long-term to protect Messi, not only after the contract expires in 2025, but also possibly until the end of 2026.
