Wynne Evans from Strictly found himself under fire once again after making a “h@rassing” comment about Tasha Ghouri on his personal page.

Welsh opera singer Wynne Evans has returned to social media after a two-week absence,

breaking his silence to praise Strictly Come Dancing Live tour winner Tasha Ghouri.

His hiatus followed a scandal that led to his departure from the tour and a temporary break from his BBC radio show.

Now, Evans has re-emerged on Instagram to acknowledge Ghouri’s victory, leaving a simple yet supportive four-word comment on her celebratory post.

Tasha Ghouri Celebrates Strictly Tour Victory

Tasha, best known for her time on Love Island, took to Instagram to share her excitement about winning the Strictly Come Dancing Live tour alongside her professional dance partner, Aljaž Škorjanec.

She reflected on the whirlwind experience, writing:

“Winners of the @strictlycomedancinglive tour!! 24 glitterballs, 35 arenas, a month of travelling around the UK & I get to take the trophy home after 6 months of strictly… this chapter has come to an end, but they all say good things come to an end. What an absolute whirlwind it has been, I really am going to miss this but here’s to more dancing in the future because it doesn’t end here!”

She went on to praise Aljaž, calling their final dance a perfect conclusion to their journey.

“Dancing with you every day on tour has just been magical, fun & I’m going to miss not being in a ballroom frame moving across that floor with you. Thank you for everything.”

Tasha also expressed gratitude to fans who attended the shows and supported them, adding:

“I’ve made great friendships & memories I’ll cherish forever. Thank you so much to everyone who came to watch and voted! Means the world, thank you for all of your cheers, signs, smiles and all the sparkles you all bought.”

Wynne Evans Shows Support for Tasha

Among the thousands of likes and comments on Tasha’s post, Wynne Evans left a brief but heartfelt message:

“Well done lovely lady. Xxxx.”

His Strictly co-star and former dance partner Katya Jones also showed her admiration, writing:

“So wonderful to get to watch you dance every day on tour!!! So well deserved.”

Wynne Evans’ Exit from the Strictly Tour

Wynne’s return to Instagram follows his controversial departure from the Strictly Come Dancing Live tour. The Welsh singer left the show after making an inappropriate remark directed at tour host Janette Manrara.

During a recorded moment, Evans was heard singing his famous “Go Compare” jingle before adding, “Not too close to Jamie [Borthwick],” in reference to fellow contestant and EastEnders actor Jamie Borthwick. He then used the highly offensive term “spit roast”, which caused widespread backlash due to its lewd connotations.

Initially, BBC bosses issued a warning to Evans, but as public outrage grew, he ultimately stepped down from the remaining live shows.

Evans’ Apology and Decision to Step Back

Following his departure from the tour, Wynne issued a public apology, expressing remorse for his actions. He also announced he would be stepping away from his BBC Radio Wales show and other public engagements.

“I’ve agreed with the BBC that I’ll take some time out from my radio show and the Strictly Live tour, as well as my other public commitments, to prioritise my wellbeing,” he stated.

“I am deeply sorry for the pain my inappropriate actions have caused, and plan to take this time for self-reflection. Apologies to those I won’t get to see at the remaining performances, and I’m grateful to my fellow tour gang for all the amazing support they have given me.”

A Quiet Comeback?

While Wynne Evans has remained largely out of the public eye since the controversy, his brief return to Instagram suggests he may be gradually re-engaging with his fans and colleagues. His supportive comment on Tasha Ghouri’s post could signal an attempt to reconnect with the Strictly community, even as he continues his period of reflection.

It remains to be seen whether Evans will return to his BBC radio show or resume other public-facing roles. For now, his social media activity has been minimal, but his praise for Tasha Ghouri hints at a slow and careful comeback.
