Former MasterChef presenter Gregg Wallace has resurfaced on social media after months of silence, 

sharing a series of cryptic messages that have left fans speculating about his state of mind. 

The TV chef, who stepped away from the popular BBC cooking competition amid allegations of inappropriate behavior, 

has been posting reflective quotes and enigmatic images, hinting at personal change and self-reflection.

Wallace’s Social Media Return After Months of Silence

For months, Wallace kept a low profile following accusations of sexual misconduct that surfaced late last year. 

The 60-year-old was placed under investigation in November after reports emerged about alleged inappropriate comments on the set of MasterChef. 

Though Wallace denied the allegations, he ultimately stepped down from the show after nearly two decades as co-host alongside John Torode.

Since then, he has avoided the public eye—until recently. Wallace made his return to Instagram last week, initially sharing an unexpected pancake recipe. But it was his subsequent posts that truly caught the attention of his followers.

Mysterious Messages and Symbolic Images

On Tuesday, Wallace continued his string of cryptic posts, sharing an image of his five-year-old son, Sid, walking through a field. Accompanying the picture, he wrote:

“If we know exactly where we want to be, it’s easier to plan a route to get there.”

Shortly after, he posted another thought-provoking image—a train platform with two trains labeled “Happy” and “Regret.” With it, he added the caption:

“Change isn’t easy, but what will happen if we don’t?”

These messages, while vague, seem to allude to personal transformation and decision-making. Given Wallace’s recent controversies, many believe the posts could be a reflection of his own situation.

Wallace’s History of Reflective Posts

This isn’t the first time the former MasterChef judge has shared ambiguous messages on social media. Last week, he posted another thought-provoking statement:

“Sunday can be a time for reflection. Perhaps make ourselves a promise for next week.”

The day before, he had uploaded an image of two women along with the caption:

“We often want to change but fear it. We feel comfort in routine, even if that routine is harmful. We shouldn’t be afraid of asking for help.”

These cryptic remarks have left many wondering if Wallace is attempting to address his personal turmoil indirectly. However, he has yet to make any direct comments regarding the allegations or the ongoing investigation.

The Allegations Against Wallace

Wallace stepped down from MasterChef following allegations from 13 individuals, including BBC Newsnight presenter Kirsty Wark. The accusations revolved around inappropriate sexual comments and misconduct, prompting BBC production company Banijay UK to launch an external review into historical complaints.

Through his lawyers, Wallace has strongly denied the allegations, calling them “entirely false” and stating that he has never engaged in inappropriate behavior.

In response to the controversy, a BBC spokesperson confirmed that action had been taken when concerns were raised, including directly challenging Wallace’s behavior and referring the matter to the production company.

BBC’s Response and Industry Backlash

The BBC has made it clear that it will not tolerate any behavior that fails to meet its professional standards. Director-General Tim Davie and Chief Content Officer Charlotte Moore reassured staff in December that the corporation would fully support Banijay UK’s investigation.

Banijay UK, the company behind MasterChef, has also stated that strict protocols are in place to protect both crew members and contestants. These include access to anonymous reporting methods and on-set HR contacts to ensure a safe working environment.

Wallace’s Future Remains Uncertain

As the investigation continues, Wallace’s career remains in limbo. His social media activity suggests he may be contemplating his next steps, but he has not explicitly addressed whether he plans to return to television.

Meanwhile, fans remain divided. While some continue to support him, others feel his cryptic posts are an attempt to deflect from the serious allegations he faces.
