Goodness we hope so – both are dripping in Grammy nominations, and they are two of the hottest artists at the moment, a meeting of minds between these two could be incredible.
And given that she’s flavour of the moment, and he’s collaborated with all the big names of the music industry, this could be a match made in heaven.
The pair met during Cardi B’s visit to the UK Capital, when they were filmed by a fan having a good old chat about a chicken restaurant in east London.
Could be inspiring lyrics for their new duet, who knows.
Cardi B is still trying to take in her two Grammy nominations, having received one for best rap song for Bodak Yellow, and best rap performance for the same track. Ed, though he missed out on an album of the year nomination, is up for best pop solo performance, best pop vocal album with Shape Of You and Divide respectively.
Could there be a Grammys performance in the pipeline?
Thankfully Ed will now be well enough for a performance with the rap queen, after having to cancel his tour following a bike accident.
He was left with fractured wrists, and told if he continued to play the guitar rather than let them heal, he’d likely never play again.
Ed’s been announced as a performer at this year’s Jingle Bell Ball, after being given the all clear to get back on stage.
Ed said of the gig: ‘I always love playing Capital’s Jingle Bell Ball. Playing a multi-artist show like that, you just get to meet so many cool people that you would never have met otherwise, and Capital always put on a great production. ‘It always looks really good. For me, it’s how the stage looks and the lighting. It’s a really, really good show to go to and definitely massive value for money because you get to see 10 or 11 acts that can all fill that arena.’
He takes to the stage on December 10 – alongside Cardi B perhaps?
