Jay-Z has accused the Grammys of racism against his wife Beyoncé, after she was snubbed in the major categories at the 64th Grammy Awards.

The rap mogul, who won four awards with Beyoncé for their collaborations, said that the Recording Academy was biased and out of touch with the culture.
In an interview with The New York Times, Jay-Z said that Beyoncé deserved to win Album of the Year for her groundbreaking visual album Black Is King, which celebrated the African diaspora and Black empowerment.
He also said that she should have been nominated for Record of the Year and Song of the Year for her anthem Black Parade, which addressed the Black Lives Matter movement and social justice issues.

“It’s a disgrace that they didn’t recognize her genius and her impact. She made history with Black Is King, not only as an artist, but as a visionary and a leader.

She created a masterpiece that inspired millions of people around the world, especially during these difficult times. She gave a voice to the voiceless and a platform to the marginalized.

She showed the beauty and the power of our culture. And they ignored her. They disrespected her. They dismissed her. They did her dirty. And they did it because she is a Black woman,” Jay-Z said.
He added that the Grammys had a long history of racism and discrimination against Black artists, and that they needed to change their ways or face the consequences. He said that he and Beyoncé were considering boycotting the Grammys in the future, and that they were not alone in their frustration.
