Former TODAY anchor Hoda Kotb shared that she was asked by the show’s producers to come back, with an extremely generous contract on the table.

Hoda Kotb may have stepped away from The Today Show, but she is still very much a part of the family.

Just weeks after bidding an emotional farewell to the program, she reunited with her former co-hosts for a special occasion, leaving fans delighted by her return.

A Heartfelt Reunion

Kotb, who left Today on January 10, recently made a surprise appearance in New York City,

reuniting with her former colleagues Savannah Guthrie, Jenna Bush Hager, Dylan Dreyer, and Willie Geist.

The beloved television personality joined them to celebrate Geist’s milestone—his first-ever Sunday Sitdown Live event at City Winery in Manhattan.

As photos from the reunion surfaced online, fans were quick to express their excitement. Many took to social media to share their thoughts, with comments like, “So nice to see Hoda with them!” and “Miss Hoda!” The overwhelming response reflected just how much audiences continue to adore Kotb and appreciate the bond she shares with her former co-hosts.

Catching Up Over Lunch

Kotb made the most of her trip to New York, taking the opportunity to spend quality time with her close friends. She shared a selfie with Guthrie and Bush Hager as they enjoyed lunch together, playfully captioning it, “Love Wednesdays!! Also, remember when you had that big goodbye party, and now I am like… HIIIIIIIIIIII!” Her lighthearted message hinted at the deep connections she has maintained despite her departure from the show.

A Brave Decision for Family

While her return to the Today Show family was brief, Kotb’s decision to leave the morning program remains a significant moment in her career. She had been a staple on the show for years, first joining as co-host in 2007 before stepping into the main co-anchor role alongside Guthrie in 2018. Her warm presence and ability to connect with audiences made her a fan favorite.

Her departure was motivated by a desire to prioritize her family, particularly her daughters, eight-year-old Haley and five-year-old Hope. Kotb has openly spoken about how quickly childhood passes and her wish to be present for her children’s formative years.

Since leaving Today, she has embraced a new daily routine, which she has shared with her followers on social media. One of her recent updates showed her enjoying a simple yet meaningful moment—walking her daughters to school, something her early-morning schedule previously prevented.

An Emotional Farewell

Kotb’s departure from Today was marked by a week of tributes, culminating in an emotional send-off on January 10. The show honored her with a heartfelt montage featuring highlights from her 26-year career with NBC. Her colleagues each took a moment to express their gratitude for her friendship and professionalism, highlighting the impact she had on the network and its audience.

During her farewell speech, Kotb reflected on her journey, calling her time at NBC “the longest professional love affair of my life.” She reassured fans that, despite stepping away, she would remain a part of the NBC family, saying, “I’ll be around. How could I not? Family is family, and you all will always be a part of mine.”

A New Chapter

Although Craig Melvin has since stepped in to fill her spot on Today, Kotb remains a cherished figure in the industry. Her return to see her colleagues only reinforced that she will always have a place in the Today family.

As she continues this new chapter of her life, fans will no doubt be keeping an eye on what comes next for her. Whether through personal projects, new media ventures, or occasional reunions with her Today co-hosts, one thing is certain—Hoda Kotb’s warmth and presence will always be missed on morning television.
