An employee of Justin Baldoni publicly exposed proof that his supposed act of kindness towards a homeless man was entirely planned: “I even have the script for it…”

Justin Baldoni has found himself at the center of controversy as former employees of his production company,

Wayfarer Studios, have accused him of fostering a work environment steeped in “toxic positivity” while questioning the sincerity of his philanthropic efforts.

The claims, detailed in a recent exposé, paint a picture of a company culture that some former staff members found inauthentic and uncomfortable.

The accusations come at a particularly turbulent time for Baldoni, who is currently embroiled in a high-profile legal battle with actress Blake Lively.

The lawsuit, which includes a staggering $400 million defamation claim, has only added to the scrutiny surrounding the actor-turned-director.

Former Employees Speak Out

According to reports, a former staff member at Wayfarer Studios claimed Baldoni’s workplace environment was overly positive to the point of being “toxic.” Employees were allegedly encouraged to sign off their emails with “so much love,” and Baldoni himself was known to film acts of charity, such as giving clothing to homeless individuals. The source expressed skepticism about these publicized gestures, stating, “I’m always a little dubious of people who advertise themselves as disruptors of the status quo or quote-unquote ‘good people.’ It felt phony.”

Despite these claims, Baldoni and Wayfarer Studios have denied any wrongdoing. A spokesperson for the company refuted allegations of a problematic work culture, emphasizing that no formal complaints had ever been filed regarding the workplace environment. They also defended the company’s emphasis on positivity, asserting that “joy and positivity are the essence of good work.”

Religious Influence at Wayfarer Studios?

Another concern raised by former employees was the increasing presence of the Bahá’í faith within Wayfarer’s office culture. Some staff members reportedly felt uneasy about what they perceived as an “evangelizing aspect” in discussions about the company’s mission. These concerns allegedly became more pronounced after Wayfarer co-founder Steve Sarowitz became more involved.

In response, Wayfarer Studios defended its approach, stating that the company welcomes employees of all faiths and encourages everyone to embrace their personal beliefs. “Speaking from a place of spirituality is commonplace,” a representative explained, emphasizing that the leadership remains inclusive of diverse perspectives.

A Divided Workplace Experience

While some former employees have criticized Wayfarer’s culture, others have had a completely different experience. Filmmaker Christel Cornilsen, for example, spoke highly of her time working with Baldoni and his company. As the first female director on a Wayfarer project, Cornilsen recalled feeling supported throughout the challenging production process in Malawi, where she worked without electricity or running water.

“They risked a lot of money for humanitarian projects that they didn’t make back. That’s putting your money where your mouth is,” Cornilsen said, arguing that Baldoni’s efforts were genuine. “There were always good intentions. A lot of corporations are phony. You have to measure the impact. Justin is generally a good egg.”

Legal Battles and Accusations

These workplace allegations are surfacing as Baldoni fights an intense legal battle with Blake Lively. The feud erupted after Lively accused him of inappropriate behavior on the set of It Ends With Us, claiming he had entered her trailer while she was undressed, shown her an explicit video of his wife giving birth, and engaged in unwanted physical contact during an improvised kissing scene.

In response, Baldoni launched a $400 million defamation lawsuit against Lively, her husband Ryan Reynolds, and her publicist, arguing that they conspired to damage his reputation. He further accused Lively of twisting his words and collaborating with media outlets to portray him negatively. The lawsuit also extends to a major publication that published a lengthy exposé based on Lively’s claims, with Baldoni arguing that the article unfairly painted him as an aggressor.

Ongoing Court Proceedings

As the legal drama unfolds, a judge recently granted a temporary pause in discovery for the media outlet facing Baldoni’s lawsuit. This delay gives the court time to consider whether the defamation claims against the publication should be dismissed. Meanwhile, both sides remain locked in a bitter dispute, with Baldoni’s team even launching a website to share private text messages and court filings in an attempt to support his case.

The trial is scheduled to begin in March 2026, promising more revelations as Baldoni and Lively continue their public battle. In the meantime, the Jane the Virgin star remains firm in his stance, rejecting claims of a toxic workplace and insisting that his charitable efforts and leadership at Wayfarer Studios are driven by sincerity rather than self-promotion.
